چکیده
Abstract The development of restraint-induced stress in reinforced concrete members at an early age can be tested using setups applying either passive or active displacement control. To provide results relevant for the practical design minimum reinforcement to limit crack width, actively controlled test setup large specimens was developed perform a systematic experimental campaign focusing on under well-defined mechanical and thermal boundary conditions. full degree restraint achieved by preventing any member allowed theoretical interpretation evolution, deformation behaviour cracked uncracked regions, variety parameters, including hydration rates, height, bar diameters subsequently ratio. cracking process, starting with primary cracks accompanied secondary within effective area, is monitored combination tensile strength Young’s modulus concrete. Furthermore, time forces released upon occurrence, considering effect self-equilibrating stresses, are determined, analysed, compared crack-force based rules determine amount that ensures width limitation.

Experimental Investigations on The Flexural Strength of PET Reinforced Concrete
Due to the rapid industrialization taking place globally, the problems generated are acute shortage of construction material and increasing in productivity of wastes. The production and consumption of plastic and the rate at which solid plastic waste (SPW) are created have increased considerably. Plastics constitute 12.3% of total waste produced most of which is from discarded water bottles. Th...
متن کاملUniaxial Tension Test of Slender Reinforced Early Age Concrete Members
The present study aims to obtain the tensile properties of early age concrete based on a uniaxial tension test employing RC slender members. First, the paper shows that concrete strain is equal to the strain of rebar at the mid-span of the RC member. The tensile Young's modulus and the strain capacity of early age concrete are estimated using strain measurements. The experiment indicated that t...
متن کاملNumerical and Experimental Investigations on the Behavior of Steel-reinforced Concrete Columns Subjected to Eccentric Loading
Steel-reinforced concrete (SRC) columns, which are classified as composite columns, became the most widely used in recent years; because of their extensive advantages over the reinforced concrete and the steel columns. In this paper, the ductility index and its influential factors were explored to investigate the behavior of SRC columns. A straightforward approach was then proposed by establish...
متن کاملA Wireless Passive Sensing System for Displacement/Strain Measurement in Reinforced Concrete Members
In this study, we show a wireless passive sensing system embedded in a reinforced concrete member successfully being employed for the measurement of relative displacement and strain in a simply supported beam experiment. The system utilizes electromagnetic coupling between the transceiver antenna located outside the beam, and the sensing probes placed on the reinforcing bar (rebar) surface insi...
متن کاملBond Deformability of Reinforced Concrete Members
The usual earthquake resistant design philosophy of ductile frame buildings allows the beams to form plastic hinges adjacent to beam-column connections. In order to carry out this design philosophy, the ultimate bond or shear strength of the beam should be greater than the flexural yielding force and should not degrade before reaching its required ductility. The behavior of RC members dominated...
